I vote at the heart of Europe!

On the 9th of June 2024, all Luxembourg nationals and all EU nationals who live in Luxembourg and are registered on the electoral roll in the Grand Duchy are required to vote in the election of six representatives from Luxembourg in the European Parliament.

Information related to these elections is provided below:

You are European but you haven't yet registered for the European elections on 9 June 2024? Go to the Civil Registry office of the Commune or register online at myguichet.lu by 5 p.m. on April 15th, 2024.

Are you unable to go to your polling station in person on June 9th, 2024? Then you can opt for postal voting! A request may be submitted either electronically via myguichet.lu or via a form that can be obtained from the Commune administration between March 18th, 2024 and April 30th, 2024 (for sending abroad) or May 15th, 2024 (for sending within Luxembourg).

Polling stations will be centralised in the localities of Niederanven and Oberanven to facilitate the organisation of the elections. Voters resident in Niederanven, Senningen and Senningerberg vote in Niederanven and those resident in Ernster, Hostert, Oberanven, Rammeldange and Waldhof in Oberanven.

At least five days before election day, you will be sent a notice of elections letter containing information on your polling station and its opening hours, a sample ballot paper and instructions. On election day, you must present yourself at the polling station indicated on your notice letter between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., carrying an identity document.

Voting is mandatory for everyone registered on the electoral rolls. As a voter, you cannot be represented by another person. Any reason for abstention must be duly justified before the Public Prosecutor of the District Court. Luxembourg law provides for penalties if you have not taken part in the vote or if your reasons for abstaining have not been admitted. If you are unable to vote, please find below a model declaration of inability to vote in European elections.
