A look at the current projects in the commune of Niederanven

During the sitting of the Commune council on 27 septembre 2024, the ‘Tiny House’ project was approved. The project is located in Rameldange: an innovative Tiny House which will be built, using 3D printing technology. This unique Tiny House covers an area of 47m2 and is the first of its kind to be built using this method in Luxembourg!

At the sitting of the commune council meeting on the 29th of March 2024, the project to redesign the Rue des Romains and build a cycle path was approved. For this project, a cycle path will be built over a length of 475 metres and the roads and pavements between the intersections of Rue des Romains / Rue des Sapins and Rue des Romains / Rue des Pins will be adapted for a speed limit of 30 km/h. In addition, the bus stop in Rue des Romains will be made compliant and the ‘'trottoir traversant'' at the entrance to Rue des Pins will be adapted.
Here are a few current projects that are helping to make our town safer and traffic calmer:
- Reconstruction of the Rue du Château in Senningen - 30km/h zone introduced
- Pedestrian crossings in rue de Munsbach in Niederanven
- Redevelopment of the bus stop "Schetzel" in Oberanven
- Creation of a pavement in the Rue Pincipale in Hostert
With regard to the redevelopment of the ''Duerfplaz'' in Ernster, ideas for a new village centre in Ernster were collected together with the citizens during two workshops on the 18th of May 2022 and the 19th of October 2022. The results of these workshops were presented to the citizens on the 8th of March 2023 during an information evening.
At the meeting of the town council on the 24th of February 2023, the project for the renovation and extension of the stadium Jos Becker was voted. The project includes a conversion of the existing building and an extension to make better use of the premises in the future and to provide more space. The extension of the stadium will mainly involve the renovation and expansion of the players' cabins and the tribune.
From a technical point of view, the building will be modernised to meet current standards. The gas heating system will be replaced by an aerothermal heat pump, which will be positioned in the southern part of the pitch. A modernised ventilation system will be installed in a technical room above the press cabin. A new rainwater tank will be used for watering. A photovoltaic system is planned on the roofs.
A new and important project voted in the municipal council on the 24th of February 2023. We are talking about a medical centre next to the old police building in Oberanven. A number of doctors, both general practitioners and specialists, are expected to be able to set up practice here in the Rue Andethana from 2026 onwards.
During the municipal council of the 1st of April 2022, the project ''Haff Peter'' at Rue Laach was voted. In addition to the realisation of flats for senior citizens and affordable housing, a literary café is to be built here in the future, as well as a community centre at the entrance to the new neighbourhood, where artists, start-ups and local associations (Club50Plus & Club Senior) can be accommodated.
The project to extend the tennis hall in Senningerberg has begun. The plan is to renovate the hall, demolish the sanitary block and build a two-storey extension in front of the hall. A highlight of the project is the construction of a local heating network with wood chips to heat the buildings of the community in the vicinity of the hall.
